For churches and faith organizations, knowing what the law is when it comes to reporting child abuse and neglect can be difficult and confusing. Summit County Children Services (SCCS) has trained staff who can address these issues and offer child abuse and neglect awareness information so church leaders are better informed of reporting laws and are better prepared to face these issues if they arise.
This three-hour training is designed to help clergy leaders and lay members have a better understanding of child abuse and neglect definitions and indicators. Participants will view the ‘Reducing the Risk’ DVD to learn suggested practices churches can put into place to help keep children and members safe. It is an engaging training with interactive lessons.
Every church in attendance will receive a special Child Abuse & Neglect Awareness Kit which includes educational information and materials that can be shared with others within your congregation and organization.
Join us at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 3rd for a light fellowship meal!
