Child Abuse and Neglect Training for Child Care Professionals
Summit County Children Services is pleased to offer the following training:
6-hour initial training on Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse - Wednesday, October 9 and 16, 2019 from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.. You must attend both sessions for credit. Registration closes at 50 participants.
3-hour review training on Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse - Tuesday, October 15, 2019 from 6 - 9 p.m. Registration closes at 50 participants.
These trainings are tailored to meet the requirements for all child care employees, child care centers, and Type A homes. Topics covered in these trainings include: an overview of Summit County Children Services, indicators of child abuse and neglect, mandated reporting tips, current issues such as the opioid epidemic as well as community and family supports.
Please note that all classes are limited to the first 50 people to register. Attendees are allowed to bring food, snacks, and drinks with them.
NEW LOCATION ON THE SUMMIT COUNTY CHILDREN SERVICES CAMPUS. 264 South Arlington Street, Akron, Ohio 44306. Please pull through the gate at the Martin Street entrance. Turn to the left. The training will be held at the Education Center up on the hill to the left.
Classes are held once a quarter in January, April, July and October.
