Summit County Children Services is pleased to offer the following training:
- 6-hour initial training on Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse - Saturday, July 13, 2019 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. with a one hour Lunch break. Registration closes at 50 participants.
- 3-hour review training on Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse - Thursday, July 18, 2019 from 6 - 9 p.m. Registration closes at 50 participants.

These trainings are tailored to meet the requirements for all child care employees, child care centers, and Type A homes. Topics covered in these trainings include: an overview of Summit County Children Services, indicators of child abuse and neglect, mandated reporting tips, current issues such as the opioid epidemic as well as community and family supports. Please note that all classes are limited to the first 50 people to register. Attendees are allowed to bring food, snacks, and drinks with them.
NEW LOCATION ON THE SUMMIT COUNTY CHILDREN SERVICES CAMPUS
264 S. Arlington Street, Akron
The trainings will be held at the Education Center on the agency's campus. The main entrance is located at the corner of S. Arlington Street and Martin Avenue at the traffic light just north of the I-76 overpass. Please drive through the gate and turn left. The Education Center is on the hill to the left. Classes are held once a quarter in January, April, July and October.
