Bobbie
Birthdate: January 1995
Bobbie’s passions lie where most teen girls’ do – going to the mall, shopping, talking on the phone and dressing up in the latest styles. She loves music and finds that it calms her when she needs to relax. She has participated in choirs and enjoys singing, although you’ll find that she’s somewhat shy when she’s asked to show off her talents! Bobbie loves to go out to eat and is a budding chef, thinking of different food creations and combinations she’d like to try out. She’d like nothing more to be an apprentice in the family kitchen.
Bobbie expresses the preference for living in an all female household. She wouldn’t mind siblings, although she doesn’t want to be in a very large family. She needs people in her life that can really build her up and help inspire confidence in her own abilities, as she is sometimes her own worst critic. Bobbie thrives with attention and someone that can sit down with her to talk through a problem. Bobbie will need to continue to work with a therapist and have a supportive educational setting to best meet her potential. Bobbie also wants a family to know that she still is in contact with her father, grandmother, aunts and cousins, and is adamant that those connections are vital to her.
For more information about Bobbie, contact her worker, Sara Herron, at (330) 379-2079 or sherron@summitkids.org.

Gabe
Birthdate: November 1993
Gabe is a sixteen year old boy who has lots of interests. He loves sports, video games and being with his brothers more than anything. He can be polite, funny and friendly.
Gabe is currently in a highly structured and consistent environment and has made a lot of progress since his placement. He has worked hard on such things as impulsivity and controlling his anger. He has demonstrated that he has the ability to make progress and work towards these goals. These are huge milestones for him.
Gabe’s most important relationships are with his two brothers- one older, one younger. While recruitment for each of them is separate, it is desired that on-going contact if not consideration at a later date for possible placement together be a part of their “forever” families decision making.
For more information About Gabe, contact his worker, Jonathan Nichols, at (330) 379-2114 or at jnichols@summitkids.org.

Jackquan
Birthdate: September 1997
Jackquan belongs to a rare breed among kids, answering questions with a polite “yes”, taking pride in a neat appearance and keeping his belongings nice. Even more rare, he thrives on helping other people, especially when it comes to pitching in with chores!
Jackquan is a budding technology fanatic and has a hard time being torn away from his cell phone. He’s recently found a new love for Guitar Hero, but really, any video game will do. Jackquan is also a kid that is happy outside, playing basketball and enjoys going fishing. His biggest passion is cars. He can identify many of them by make, year and model, and has done a lot of work on them with the adults in his life. He’s already decided he’d like to be a diesel mechanic in the future. Going to car shows is a huge treat for him.
Something that Jackquan will need to continue working on is his anger management, which can sometimes lead to problems at home or at school. Jackquan has very good insight into his challenges and wants to do better.
Jackquan is having a tough time with the idea of moving to an adoptive home and being apart from his siblings. A family that is understanding of this, and willing to devote the patience and unconditional love to Jackquan he so desperately needs will be rewarded with a child who has the potential to blossom into an awesome young man.
For more information about Jackquan, contact his CCR worker, Heather Bell, at (330) 996-1012, hbell@summitkids.org, or his worker, Sara Herron, at (330) 379-2079, sherron@summitkids.org.
A note to any superheroes that may be out there: Jackquan has two brothers who are also seeking permanent homes: Lequan, age 8, and Tomquan, age 9. It would be an absolute blessing to find a dauntless, courageous family who is up to the challenge of reuniting some of this long-separated sibling group. In doing so, you will find out what it truly means to create a miracle in the life of a child.

Jackson & Jason
Birthdate: August 2004 & July 2006
This rough and tumble sibling group can definitely be described as “all boy”! Jackson and Jason are eagerly anticipating the warmer weather, as they love to be outside, riding bikes or running around a playground. They will happily watch cartoons, color, draw or put together puzzles for a while, though don’t be surprised if someone tries to sneak in some indoor somersaults or cartwheels from time to time, because being sedate and quiet is not always in their nature.
Jackson is academically on target for Kindergarten and seems to enjoy school, though he struggles to maintain good behaviors every day. Jason also enjoys going to school, but needs extra assistance due to aggressive behaviors, and is starting a special education pre-school program to address this issue, along with extra help for some speech deficits.
Both boys have behaviors meeting the diagnostic criteria for Reactive Attachment Disorder and will need ongoing therapy to address the loss, grief and trauma they have experienced. Jackson especially needs close supervision and frequent re-direction, as he has a tendency to fight with his brother and is not always kind towards pets. Both boys compete for attention. They would do best in a family where they are the youngest and are not placed with similarly aged children. Their adoptive family will need to dedicate a great deal of time to meeting their needs and possess flexibility, patience and a sense of humor as they embark on the journey of raising these boys. The rewards will be numerous, as both boys have an earnest sweetness, an inquisitive, intelligent nature and cute little faces that you just can’t help but fall in love with.
The plan is for Jackson and Jason to be adopted by their foster parents. However, the Agency would like to accept home studies in the event an alternative placement plan is necessary.
For more information about Jackson and Jason, contact their worker, Sara Herron, at (330) 379-2079 or sherron@summitkids.org.
Approved home studies will be accepted until Friday, April 2, 2010.

Mercedes & Raven
Birthdate: May 2005 & October 2007
Mercedes is a five year old female with no identified delays. She completed pre-school and will enter Kindergarten in the Fall 2010. She is on target developmentally and speaks very well and detailed for a child of her age. She enjoys helping out in the kitchen, and playing with her toys (especially her Dora dollhouse) and being outside. She also likes to play pretend games- such as host tea parties and cook things for people. She is very bright, easy to engage, and gets along well with her peers. She is very attached to her current foster mother and will need someone with patience and understanding during the transition into her adoptive home. Mercedes is overall physically healthy.
Raven is a two year old female who is very shy and takes a long time to warm up to others. She too is very attached to her current foster mother and will need a lot of patience working with her during the transition period. She is petite for her age but is on target developmentally. Physically, Raven has been diagnosed with Precocious Puberty; therefore she currently sees an Endocrinologist for hormone therapy and will need ongoing treatment. She received a surgical implant with medication this past February in order to control her hormone levels; the implant will need to be updated once a year. As a result of her precocious puberty she has been known to have tantrums where she screams (but she is not aggressive) and the tantrums have not been occurring so frequently since she has been receiving the hormone therapy. Raven is also quite active and will need a family with some energy in order to keep up with her!!
Mercedes and Raven have met two potential adoptive families; unfortunately both times, the placement did not occur due to family circumstances.
The family that is chosen this time will need to have plenty of patience and understanding of the girls needs in order to help facilitate a healthy transition for them.
For more information about Mercedes and Raven, contact their worker, Kristine Robinson, at (330) 379-1811 or at krobinson@summitkids.org.
NOTE: Home studies will be accepted until August 6, 2010.

Nathan
Birthdate: September 1997
Nathan has several ideas about what he would like to have in his forever family. A mom and dad, maybe a brother or sister, and definitely a couple of pets (especially a snake if possible)! He'd also really like to stay in contact with his birth mother and maternal grandmother, and hopes that his new family would support that.
It's best to keep Nathan busy. He loves sports, especially basketball, and likes to play board games and build complicated creations out of Lego's. But, he'll try almost anything if it means getting some individual attention from someone. He could use a family who will ask gentle questions in a calm manner and would like a family who will listen quietly when he talks about his feelings and his past.
Patience is a necessary skill for the family adopting Nathan. He wants to please and make good decisions, but needs guidance and support in learning to express his feelings and thoughts in a safe manner.
If you feel Nathan is the child for you, please contact his CCR worker, Karen Becker with Christian Children's Home of Ohio, at (330) 345-7949, beckerk@ccho.org, or his worker, Leann Benitez, at (330) 379-1869, lbenitez@summitkids.org.

Raisha
Birthdate: December 1994
Raisha is a delightful, young lady with a beautiful smile. She enjoys being spoiled with goods and attention. Raisha enjoys doing "girl" things such as having her nails polished, wearing light makeup and keeping her hair pretty. She has a good sense of humor and loves to sing to her favorite songs on the radio. Raisha would like to work in fashion when she is older.
Raisha is in specialized classes at school based on her emotional and behavioral needs. She has been in numerous foster homes. She struggles academically and views school as an opportunity to spend time with her friends. The adoptive family for Raisha needs to be committed to long-term counseling to deal with issues of attachment. She would be a good addition to a family with older children.
For more information about Raisha, contact her CCR worker, Karen Becker with Christian Children's Home of Ohio, at (330) 345-7949, beckerk@ccho.org, or her worker, Jennifer Cranston, at (330) 996-1064, jcranston@summitkids.org.

Ricky
Birthdate: May 1994
You’ve never seen concentration and persistence like it when Ricky is lost in his favorite video game. He’s your typical young teen who would play for hours, left to his own devices. Further attaching him to the TV is his love of movies. However, with a little encouragement, Ricky will move on from his couch potato ways and enjoys riding his bike and collecting toy cars. He is very knowledgeable about the real cars, too.
Ricky is small for his age, and sometimes uses that to act immature, with the hope to be “babied”, but he is slowly but surely moving towards maturity. He’ll need continued support through therapy as well as a structured school setting. However, with patience and flexibility on the part of his prospective home, Ricky will bring a great sense of humor and lots of affection into an adoptive family.
For more information about Ricky, contact his CCR worker, Allison Harrod with Caring for Kids, Inc., at (330) 928-0044, allison@cfkadopt.org, or his worker, Sara Herron, at (330) 379-2079, sherron@summitkids.org.

Birthdate: October 1993
Ryan is a very friendly, talkative, and handsome young man with an outgoing and curious personality. He loves sports and is great at basketball. Ryan enjoys watching movies and playing outside. He is behind in school academically and socially, and struggles daily. Ryan will need supports in place to assist with his progress. He also has some attachment issues with peers and adults.
Ryan needs a family who can provide him with the structure, consistency and nurturing he wants and deserves to help him grow and mature into the incredible person he can become.

Ryan
Birthdate: September 1996
Ryan is happiest in the great outdoors, enjoying camping, fishing and swimming. His idea of a perfect day would be riding his bike around the neighborhood with his friends, exploring all that the world contains. When the weather keeps him inside, Ryan takes an interest in music, video games, Pokemon cards and Bakugan. He also has some excellent artistic skills and can create amazing drawings.
Ryan will need a strong, structured and devoted adoptive family. Working in partnership with his school will be a necessity, as Ryan needs extra help and accountability with his behaviors. Ryan will also need to continue work with mental health professionals to address a lifetime of chaos, trauma and loss.
Ryan is the oldest of a large sibling group, and although he will not be placed for adoption with them, he hopes very much that he can continue contact with them. As an oldest child, Ryan has a take charge attitude that often needs to be re-directed, and reminders that the adults are in charge, not him. The best fit in an adoptive home would be that Ryan be the youngest or the only child.
For more information about Ryan, contact his CCR worker, Allison Harrod with Caring for Kids, Inc. at (330) 928-0044, allison@cfkadopt.org, or his worker Sara Herron, at (330) 379-2079, sherron@summitkids.org.

Shannon
Birthdate: May 2001
Shannon would like you to know she loves music and TV (especially Hannah Montana, Camp Rock, High School Musical and cartoons); arts and craft projects; playing outside; and just talking. But she also wants you to know she hates cigarette smoke; is afraid of big dogs; and sometimes has problems getting along with kids her own age!
Shannon has had a very chaotic childhood. Adults have not always kept their promises nor have they provided her with a safe home. She is having trouble processing her placement in foster care and understanding why she is not with her family anymore. She has a hard time trusting others and becomes anxious and agitated when placed in new situations or with new people. Shannon often pushes people away through her words, actions and choices and many times responds to situations without thinking. Counseling and medication are being provided to help her learn to control her impulses. In the meantime, a family providing a high level of supervision and structure is best suited for Shannon.
Shannon likes school because she likes her teaches and her friends. However, she finds it hard to focus on the lesson at hand and has a more difficult time learning than same age peers. She was recently tested and found to qualify for services through the local Board of Developmental Disabilities. She needs a family who will make learning fun and who has the desire to work with the school system in creating the right program for her needs.
Shannon would do best in a family with no other children or in a family with an older child who is stable and has few special needs. She demands and requires extra attention, support, guidance and time, so experience, patience and consistency are needed!

Tiffney
Birthdate: May 1995
Tiffney is not your typical teenager. She prefers riding her bike, playing with her dogs, dressing up her dolls and watching Pokemon cartoons to texting, creating My Space accounts and hanging out at the mall! Diagnosed with MRDD, Tiffney’s interests are closer in age to her younger foster sister.
Tiffney has had a very chaotic childhood. Adults have not always kept their promises nor have they provided her with a safe home. Because of this, she does not trust easily and becomes anxious and agitated when placed in new situations or with new people. Tiffney often pushes people away through her words; actions and choices but counseling and medication are helping her learn to control her impulses.
Tiffney would prefer to be anywhere except school! She finds it hard to focus on the lesson at hand and reports the work is “boring”. She needs a family who will make learning fun and who has the desire to work with the school system in creating the right program for her needs. Additionally, a family providing a high level of supervision and structure is best suited for Tiffney.
Tiffney makes it clear that her new family must be willing to allow her contact with her younger sister, who is also in foster care and her current caregivers, who are not an adoptive resource. It wouldn’t hurt if you’d cook her Ramen Noodles with butter either!
If your family is interested in learning more about Tiffney, contact her worker, Leann Benitez, at (330) 379-1869 or lbenitez@summitkids.org.

Tomquan
Birthdate: December 2000
Tomquan, nicknamed "Tommy," is a bright and engaging boy who loves art projects and drawing pictures for people. He is quick with hugs and kisses and knows how to use that charming smile to his advantage!
Tommy has had numerous disappointments in his life, and needs a family that will give him a 100% commitment. He will challenge that commitment, no doubt, but a strong, dedicated family who will love him no matter what is essential.
Tommy's chosen family will need to follow up with a variety of services to meet his needs and must be willing to maintain openness with his siblings placed elsewhere.
For more information about Tomquan, contact his CCR worker, Katrina Yoder with Christian Children's Home of Ohio, at (330) 345-7949, yoderk@ccho.org, or his worker, Sara Herron, at (330) 379-2079, sherron@summitkids.org.
A note to any superhero familes out there: Tomquan has two brothers who are also seeking permanent homes, Lequan, age 8, and Jackquan, age 12. It would be an absolute blessing to find a dauntless, courageous family who is up to the challenge of reuniting some of this long-separated sibling group. In doing so, you will find out what it truly means to create a miracle in the life of a child.

Tyrel
Birthdate: March 1996
Tyrel is a quiet and reserved, twelve-year-old, African-American male who has some special needs due to his autism. He has a special talent for drawing and can lose himself for hours on a new project. Unlike some children with autism, Tyrel is able to handle change fairly well. He responds positively to individual attention.
