Donations
Summit County Children Services is glad to accept donations of items that our client families need. Most needed donations include new socks and new underwear for boys and girls and coats and gloves for teen boys. We also accept gently used children’s clothing in current styles for boys and girls ages 0-18. On a limited basis, we also accept gently used household items and small furniture, including frames for single beds. We do not accept used toys or stuffed animals or used mattresses or linens. All donations must be delivered to the agency, which is located at 264 S. Arlington Street, Akron, Ohio, 44306. Donations are accepted between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., seven days a week. Donations receipts are available.
For more information, please call the agency’s Community Relations Department at (330) 379-1994.
Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer opportunities are available throughout the year to help with projects that benefit the children we serve or which help to educate the community about child abuse and neglect, positive parenting, or agency services. No volunteer opportunities are available working directly with children or families, in order to protect their privacy.
All volunteer opportunities require advance registration. Volunteer opportunities which are open for on-line registration will be listed here. If there are none listed at present, please check back or send an email to sdeluca@summitkids.org to receive information by email about upcoming volunteer opportunities.
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Summit County Children Services.
