Summit County Children Services solicits and receives community donations of specific items, or financial contributions to purchase such items, for several client benefit programs SCCS operates throughout the year. The primary client benefit programs include: Beds for Kids, Easter Baskets, School Supplies, and Holiday Programs (Toy Room, Adopt-a-Family, and Holiday Gift Cards). Generally, SCCS also accepts the following donations throughout the year:
• Diapers, formula and new clothing items only (including pajamas, socks and undergarments). for the emergency needs of children and young adults.
• New bedding.
• New or gently used children's toys and books.
• New stuffed animals.
All other donations, unless specifically solicited and designated through the Community Relations Department for a specific departmental or programmatic need, are not accepted. Specifically, SCCS does not accept the following items:
• Used beds/bedding.
• Indoor/Outdoor Furniture.
• Housewares/decorative items.
• Indoor/Outdoor tools.
• Window treatments.
