School Supplies

Though one school year just ended, the start of the new school year is not far away ... and Summit County Children Services wants to ensure that children in need and receiving agency services will begin school prepared with the essential new supplies that will help them achieve success in the year ahead.

To prepare children for school, we need your help.

Please consider making a financial contribution that will provide a backpack filled with school supplies to the following:

  • $30 for an elementary school student
  • $35 for a middle school student
  • $40 for a high school student (includes a scientific calculator)

Monetary donations can be made online through PayPal (use the "Donate Now" button).  Individuals can also mail a donation to the agency, 264 S. Arlington Street, Akron, Ohio  44306, ATTN:  Community Relations.  Checks can be made payable to Summit County Children Services.

The volunteer activity of packing school supplies into backpacks IS FULL.

With your help, we can make returning to school easier for each child we serve by providing them with the essentials they need to succeed in the classroom.  We appreciate your interest and generous support.  For more information about the School Supplies Program, please contact Sandy DeLuca at (330) 379-1994.

NOTE:  In the event that financial contributions exceed what is needed for this specific program, Summit County Children Services will use all remaining contributions to directly benefit children served by the agency.
